About Paul Strommen.

Paul Strommen is a conservative Republican and fierce advocate for western Nebraska. Paul currently serves on the Sidney city council and as deputy mayor. As a member of the city council, Paul has focused on economic development, affordable housing, and reducing the tax burden for Sidney residents.

In addition to his service on the Sidney city council, Paul serves on the Nebraska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, to which he was appointed in 2022. During his time with the Commission, Paul has worked to ensure the development of Nebraska’s oil and natural gas resources while promoting the health, safety, and environment of Nebraska residents.

Paul is a champion of the Nebraska ethanol industry and has worked tirelessly to promote and protect agriculture in Nebraska. He currently serves as an executive with Mid America Bio Energy and Commodities, a fifty-million-gallon ethanol plant located in Perkins County. Paul has worked with several ethanol industry leaders in Nebraska, including the Nebraska Ethanol Board and the Renewable Fuels Association.

Paul’s wife, Kendra (Olson), a fifth-generation Nebraskan, grew up in Hershey. Paul was born Sleepy Hollow, NY, and graduated from the University of Colorado-Denver. The Strommens met in Colorado and were married in 2003. They moved to North Platte in 2006 and to Sidney in 2013. Kendra is a partner in the Matzke, Mattoon, Martens & Strommen law firm in Sidney.
